If a player knows they for the most part will be playing Favs, how much of an advantage if any at all is it to get your plays in as soon as lines come out.

In other words, do lines tend to move in such a fashion that the person who wants to bet the fav should get their bets in early because over 50% of the time the Fav will become a bigger fav as the game gets closer?

It all depends. It helps if you do your numbers and homework before the lines come out to give you an idea of what the line should look like and then you can try to see which way the line will move. Most of the time you will be right. If you think the line will move against you hit it early. If you think that line doesnt make sense then hold off and see if it comes down.

Also i hear that if the line opens at -4.5 the books dont know what to expect so that line movement can tell you alot about that game.
